What is sourdough?
Sourdough is naturally occurring yeast and lactobacillus cultures that ferment together and are used as a leaven, or starter, for making baked goods.
Is sourdough bread probiotic?
Lactobacillus is a probiotic culture, so, similar to other fermented foods such as sauerkraut and kombucha, sourdough bread is rich in probiotics.
What grains do Kulina Lani Organic Bakery and Farm mill fresh?
All of our whole grains and sprouted wheat, rye, and spelt grains are milled right on our Hawaii Island farm, because fresh flour makes fresh bread!
Does Kulina Lani Organic Bakery sell items other than sourdough bread?
When you visit us at the Farmers Market on Wednesday or Saturday at the Pukalani Stables in Kamuela, HI, you will also find a variety of sourdough pastries, cinnamon rolls, croissants, bagels, pizzettes, and many other Kulina Lani baked creations that celebrate our Island’s abundance.
Where can we pick up pre-ordered sourdough bread?
Currently, our breads can be pre-ordered 2 days in advance and picked up at:

Kamuela Farmers Market at Pukalani Stables, Kamuela, HI, Saturdays from 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM
